Join Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) and partners to celebrate Earth Month! Whether you’re looking to volunteer, learn, or simply spend time outdoors, we’ve outlined a variety of activities and events below for every Earth enthusiast.

Volunteer Events 🌍
Carkeek Park Earth Day Work Parties and Salmon Feeding
- Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
- Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Location: Starting at the Carkeek Park Admin Building (first right as you enter the park)
- Details: Join volunteers at Carkeek Park to help pull weeds in the garden, work on trails in the park, pick up litter or prepare Pipers orchard for another great season of apples. If you want to learn about the salmon, stop by the salmon imprint pond to talk with volunteers and get a chance to feed a few.

Litter Clean-Up Events at Green Lake, Cowen/Ravenna, and Lincoln Park
- Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
- Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Locations:
- Green Lake Park: Meet near the lake in front of the Green Lake Community Center
- Lincoln Park: Meet by the information kiosk in the main parking lot
- Cowen/Ravenna Park: Meet at the information kiosk on the west side of Cowen Park off Brooklyn Ave.
- Details: Join a Seattle Urban Nature Guide in cleaning up your local park. Stop by for an hour or stay longer to celebrate Earth Day, meet new people, and help keep our green spaces litter-free.

Camp Long Volunteer Work Party and Advisory Council Open House
- Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
- Time: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- Location: Camp Long
- Details: Join volunteers at Camp Long to help remove invasive weeds, work on trails, pick up litter, and more. Afterward, enjoy roasting marshmallows by the fire and meet members of the Advisory Council to learn about upcoming summer events and ways to get involved.

Educational Activities 📚
Ladybug Festival: An Earth Day Celebration
- Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
- Time: 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
- Location: Garfield Community Center
- Details: Celebrate Earth Day by connecting with your community and nature at this family-friendly event highlighting the importance of pollinators. Enjoy the annual release of ladybugs in the garden and participate in fun, hands-on educational activities for all ages.

Amphibian Adventures at Carkeek Park
- Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
- Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Location: Meet at Carkeek Park (in the parking lot near the beach)
- Details: Learn about amphibians and their habitats through this engaging, educational program.

Stalking Insects at Magnuson Park Children’s Garden
- Date: Sunday, April 26, 2026
- Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
- Location: Magnuson Park
- Details: Join to spend a fun filled afternoon learning about insects on this Magnuson Park safari.

Micro-Adventures on the Forest Floor Guided Walk

- Location: Camp Long
- Details: Explore the forest floor on a guided walk with Seattle Parks & Recreation Naturalist and discover the small wonders of nature up close.

City Nature Challenge Program at Longfellow Creek
- Date: Friday, April 24, 2026
- Time: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Location: Meet at Delridge Community Center Outdoor Space
