Seattle Parks and Recreation 2026 closures for Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday

Many Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

These facilities and services are CLOSED:

  • Community centers and all recreation programs
  • Teen life centers
  • Indoor swimming pools
  • Small craft centers
  • Volunteer Park Conservatory (closed regularly on Mondays)
  • Japanese Garden (closed December through February for winter maintenance) 

These facilities are OPEN on regular schedules:

  • Boat ramps
  • Interbay, Jackson Park, Bill Wright, and West Seattle golf courses and ranges
  • Amy Yee Tennis Center (facility is open; no programming)
  • Parks
