Summer brings big crowds out to many of Seattle’s most beloved parks. With this increased visitation, the City has pulled together the following safety plan to support park goers and park neighbors alike.
2025 Seattle Park Summer Safety Plan:
- Shortened hours at Alki Beach, Golden Gardens, Stan Sayres, Atlantic City Boat Ramp, Hamilton Viewpoint, Don Armeni Boat Ramp, and Magnuson Boat Ramp. Updated hours will go into effect Memorial Day weekend and specific hours can be found here, on park webpages, on Google/Yelp/Apple park listings, and on signage in parks.
- Contracted with Seattle Police Department to support park closings at Alki Beach, Golden Gardens, and Magnuson Boat Ramp on weekend evenings starting Memorial Day weekend.
- Increased signage at parks informing the public of park hours and park rules, including reader boards at Alki Beach, Golden Gardens, and Magnuson Park.
- New Park gates to be installed at Magnuson Park (south side along 65th St. and on 74th just before the Off Leash Area) and Gas Works Park parking lot to support compliance with park closure times.
- Park Rangers shifts are assigned to support Parks Code compliance in the evening hours at parks throughout the city.
Our goal is to have a fun and safe summer where we can all enjoy everything that Seattle has to offer!
