Plus Additional Park Hour Changes
Seattle Parks and Recreation is excited to announce permanent updates to summer hours at Alki Beach and Golden Gardens, following extensive community feedback, pilot programs, and a public hearing at the April 10, 2025 Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners meeting. These updates are designed to create a safer, more enjoyable environment for all visitors while addressing concerns from surrounding communities.
Read on for the details of these changes and beach fire season dates/times, as well as additional park hour adjustments across the city.
New Permanent Summer Hours at Alki Beach and Golden Gardens
Starting May 23, 2025, the permanent summer hours at Alki Beach and Golden Gardens will be as follows:
- Summer Hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day): 4 A.M. – 10:30 P.M.

The updated summer hours reflect input gathered from community feedback and pilot periods. The earlier closure during summer addresses issues of late-night disruptions and unsafe activities, ensuring that the parks remain welcoming for families, friends, and community members alike.
