Enviromental Learning

The Community Learning Garden is located in the Wallingford neighborhood. In this garden you’ll find a solar greenhouse, cordon and espalier-style fruit trees, blue elderberry, persimmon, cane berries, drought tolerant plantings, annual vegetable beds showcasing the variety of crops that grow in our climate, worm bins, a green roof, a rain garden, a 12 acre park and a farmer’s market.

The Children’s Garden, also located in Wallingford, captivates children with annual and perennial vegetables, a sensory garden, an animal trail and wildlife tunnel, giant kiwi vines, fruit trees, a container garden demonstration, worm bins, compost area, a playground, bathrooms and a picnic area nearby.

Each year, through a partnership agreement with Seattle Parks and Recreation, Tilth’s Community and Children’s Garden provides scholarships and free community events.

Scholarships: Tilth offers gardening classes along with summer camps for kids (ages 1-15) at this community and children’s garden. There are scholarships available for these programs for those that cannot afford to pay.

Community Events: Tilth puts on a variety of community events at this garden location that are open to the public. Please check their calendar for more information.
