Cascade People’s Center (CPC) is operated by the YMCA and is located in the South Lake Union’s Cascade neighborhood. CPC runs programs that engage and connect diverse communities through programs, services and activities that strengthen their neighborhood. Each year, through a partnership agreement with SPR, CPC provides free wilderness first aid training, environmental education and leadership workshops, Bold and Gold wilderness expeditions for youth, and building improvements.
Wilderness First Aid Training: CPC offers YMCA Earth Service Corps programs, where teens can engage with environmental education programs, god on outdoor adventures, and become environmental leaders.
BOLD & GOLD Program: CPC offers YMCA BOLD and GOLD programs, where youth 11-18 can take expeditions to amazing natural spaces in the Pacific Northwest. Financial support is available when needed.
Events: CPC offers free and low-cost events throughout the year to the public. Check here for their monthly calendar.
Building Improvements: In 2018 CPC made significant improvements to the building that they lease from Seattle Parks and Recreation, including improved HVAC, fire alarm, paint, and installation of a security system.
