Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is expanding its drop-in sand volleyball court program pilot for the full 2026 sand volleyball season! The 2026 season begins on April 1 and ends on October 15.
The pilot was introduced in July 2025 in response to feedback from the local sand-volleyball community requesting more accessible and informal play opportunities. During the pilot, SPR installed one drop-in court at Alki Beach Park and two at Golden Gardens Park. Each court was equipped with nets and boundary lines and was available for use during park hours through the end of the sand volleyball season on October 15, 2025.
The drop-in courts are open to the public and do not require reservations. Players are encouraged to use the courts on a first-come, first-served basis and to follow the posted guidelines to ensure equitable access for all users.
- Season: April 1 – Oct. 15.
- Hours: Same as park hours (see SPR website for details).
- Drop-in courts are first-come, first-served.
- Game Rules:
- Games are limited to 21 points.
- Winning teams may stay for up to two consecutive wins before rotating off the court.
- Losing teams must relinquish the court.
