Seattle Parks and Recreation(SPR) is happy to announce the renovation of Lower Woodland Playfield #1, also known as the Seattle Mariners All-Star Legacy Field, begins June 23, 2026. The scope of work includes in-field turf replacement, as well as installing new turf in the bullpens. Lower Woodland Playfield is located at 5100 Green Lake Way N.
The field will be closed for renovation and Field Turf, USA ,SPR contractor, will use some of the parking along 5100 Green Lake Way N. for construction staging. We anticipate the completion of the project in late August 2026.
SPR is investing in a state-of-the-art synthetic turf system for our playfields that is safe, playable, durable, and retains less heat in the summer. Our standard is to provide a sustainable cork and sand infill over a cushioned pad system supporting our commitment to Healthy People, a Thriving Environment and Vibrant Community.
