Seattle Parks and Recreation(SPR) invites the community to participate in meaningful conversations to collaborate on how our shared green spaces can evolve to better serve everyone. SPR is hosting two upcoming meetings to explore options for community activation partners and new potential users. The first event will be Nov. 19 and cover South Capitol Hill Parks (Broadway Hill Park, Tashkent Park, Seven Hills Park) and the second is Nov. 20 to discuss Dr. Blanche Lavizzo Shelter Area. Additionally, SPR will be gathering input on new park features for each park that would support park infrastructure and users.
During the meetings below you’ll have the opportunity to share ideas and feedback on how SPR can support the community, activate the spaces through recreational and community activities, and enhance public safety at the parks.
- On Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 5:30 to 7 PM at Garfield Community Center, 2323 E. Cherry St., we will collaborate on the future of South Capitol Hill Parks — Broadway Hill, Tashkent and Seven Hills Park. Seven Hills Park is currently closed and SPR will extend the closure until December 27, 2025.
- On Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 6 to 7:45 PM at Garfield Community Center, 2323 E. Cherry St., we will collaborate on the future of Dr. Blanche Lavizzo Park Shelter Area. The shelter area is currently closed and SPR will extend the closure until December 27, 2025.
We recognize that these parks have been impacted by activities incompatible with their intended use. We are working to ensure that all parks are clean, safe, and welcoming.
