Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is pleased to announce we awarded the contract for park pavement improvement projects to Sunset Grill Construction.
The first three 2025 projects SPR will be:
- Fairmount Park in West Seattle: Schedule and Closure: July 31 – September 1
- Scope: Installation of new ADA-compliant sidewalks around the playground at Fairmount Park. This includes demolition of existing pathways and construction of new concrete and asphalt pavement in compliance with ADA standards. The contractor will need to close the play area to complete this work and will work to minimize impacts to the remainder of the park.
- Mount Baker Trails in southeast Seattle: Schedule: August 18 – September 11
- Scope: Restoration of damaged pavement along the Mount Baker Park trails through overlay or replacement, improving trail safety and accessibility. An alternate route will be identified for access of the pedestrians during the project when the pathway is closed.
- Discovery Park Texas Way in Magnolia: Schedule: September 15 – October 6
- Scope: Asphalt overlay of the eroded section of Texas Way in Discovery Park. The existing asphalt surface has deteriorated, and this project aims to enhance the road’s durability and performance.
Sunset Grill Construction and SPR will work to minimize the impact of the projects at each park location. Thank you in advance to the community for their patience and cooperation at each location.
