Starting in June Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Amy Yee Tennis Foundation (AYTF) in partnership with the Amy Yee Tennis Center is setting aside reserved court times for families to come out and play, no sets, just games.
The 10 outdoor sites are listed at the bottom of the announcement with days and times. For more location information go to growseattletennis Facebook page.
The Tennis Zone is designed for Families with youth under 18 and/or just all youth to head out to their local tennis court and just play games, with a focus on the 10 and under age group. During this window the public will be encouraged to come out and play games. Players are encouraged to take only 30 minutes when people are waiting OR incorporate people into the game being played.
Resources: Games will be illustrated at each court location, as well as links to websites where more games and activities can be found. There will be no staff on site. We ask that players relinquish courts to families on the few select days/times these courts are reserved exclusively for them.
What’s needed: rackets and balls, that’s it. Rackets and balls can be checked out at these 5 community centers during event hours. Additionally, the Amy Yee Tennis Center is running a promotion this summer one youth racket for 10 and under and 3 age appropriate tennis balls for $20, just have to stop by the tennis center.
