Seattle Parks and Recreation 2023 Summer Pool, Spraypark, and Beach Hours

**Updated 8/17/23 with season-end swimming beach info

Whether you like to lap swim, dunk, dog-paddle or wade, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) has dozens of ways to hit the water this summer in the pool or at the beach!

Although SPR is still in the midst of a national lifeguard shortage facing many park agencies, the following sites will be operational this summer while two pools, two wading pools, and three beaches will be non-operational until there is sufficient staff to maintain safety ratios.

Please know, we are working hard to recruit, train, and hire more lifeguards and wading pool attendants so we can return to full operational hours, and we encourage the public to please share our lifeguard job opportunities with your networks.

Following is a list of the 2023 Summer Pool, Spraypark, and Beach Schedules (see translated schedules below):

OUTDOOR POOLS – Open June 24 to September 4

  • Lowery C. “Pop” Mounger Pool, at 2535 32nd Ave. W, 206-684-4708, will operate daily beginning on Saturday, June 24 through Monday, September 4 for playland, lap fitness, and recreational swimming. The full schedule will be posted here. Mounger Pool is really two pools in one place. The “big pool” has a 50-foot corkscrew slide, and the warmer, shallower “little pool” is great for relaxing and for teaching little ones.
  • Colman Pool, at 8603 Fauntleroy Way SW, 206-684-7494, will operate daily beginning on Saturday, June 24 and will run through Monday, September 4. The full schedule will be posted here. The pool will be closed July 6 through 8 and July 14 and 15 for swim meets. The pool will also temporarily close early on Saturday, July 29 at 3:15pm. The pool enjoys a spectacular view of Puget Sound from its prime location on the beach in West Seattle’s Lincoln Park. It features heated salt water!
