Seattle Parks and Recreation Hiring Seasonal Staff for Summer 2023 

More than 200 positions available for recreation, aquatics, and summer camp roles. 

Seattle Parks and Recreation is hiring seasonal and permanent employees to support a variety of recreation, aquatics, and camp programs this summer season. Each summer, Seattle Parks and Recreation recruits staff to join our team and provide safe and engaging recreation opportunities throughout the City of Seattle.

Seasonal Parks and Recreation staff provide essential services to community. Across 25 Community Centers, 3 Teen Life Centers, more than 480 Parks, as well as pools and lifeguarded summer beaches, Seattle truly comes alive in the summer. Parks and Recreation professionals play important roles in creating friendly and welcoming spaces for all Seattleites. From helping members of the public register for classes or pay for pool admission, distributing healthy meals to children in parks, leading programs at school-age summer camps, or engaging community members in different languages to promote healthy lifestyles.   

 ”Summer temporary employment is a wonderful introduction to careers within Parks and Recreation through our vibrant summer programming and activities. This can also be the first stop on a pathway to full time employment with the City of Seattle,” said Tia Scott, Recreation Facilities and Youth Sports Manager. 

Temporary part- and full-time employment opportunities are available. These positions are great for anyone looking to explore or begin a career in social service, education, or public health fields, while serving children, youth, adults, and seniors in their communities.
