Event Description: Inspired Child will offer free dances classes at Judkins & Pratt Park teaching music videos, dance scenes from movies and tik tok inspired choreography. After 4 weeks of fun, participants will come together with local artists to present Inspired Child Movies & Shakers. During the presentation of movie scenes, music videos and tik toks families will participate in group flash mob style performances! It’s All about audience participation, as we bring the community together to get into the act.

Event Description: With the Maple Leaf Park as your background, you will create quick sketches with easy techniques and simple materials. Lisa Snow Lady will guide you as you sketch your surroundings, using an intuitive approach to create a “watercolor journal” as you learn to capture the essence of flowers, plants and everyday objects. Beginning with fun warm up exercises in pen and you will gradually layer in watercolor to make drawings pop! No experience necessary.

Event Description: “In Their Stories You Will Find Them” is a series of live dance performances presented by The Seattle Project, highlighting local Seattle movement artists. This series explores themes of folklore in juxtaposition with contemporary perspectives and ideologies – reflecting on what has remained and what has changed.

Event: Collaborative Landscape

Location: Cal Andersen Park, by the fountain.
Event Description: Two free participatory, relational painting sessions for neighbors, strangers and outliers in Cal Anderson Park, July 30th and 31st, 2022. A 16’-foot horizontal canvas on a stretcher is elevated as a table. In coordinated efforts, each group of 20 painting participants, pours paint together simultaneously. Compositions form as individual flows move towards weighted holes in the center of the canvas. Photos are taken by all, the painting is wiped away, and a new group is formed.
