Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent Jesús Aguirre will join the City Parks Alliance Virtual Summer Series, June 14 through June 25, 2021, to explore with other panelists the power of parks and recreation in addressing the complex challenges facing today’s cities.
The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic recession have challenged agencies and city budgets at a time when the need for equitable access to healthy outdoor spaces has never been greater. The two weeks of interactive programming and conversations will focus on how cities are reckoning with racial justice, building an inclusive workforce, driving an equitable economic recovery, and leveraging parks and public spaces to connect people and create stronger, more resilient communities. Sessions include a mayors’ panel, keynote, a mix of pre-recorded and live panels, interactive sessions, virtual mobile workshops, and peer learning opportunities.
Early-bird registration is open now. Don’t miss out on this chance to network and engage with fellow leaders working on the power of parks.
