One mile of Lake Washington Boulevard closed to traffic through January 3

The winter holidays and school break are almost upon us. Yay? Maybe not so much if it means being cooped up at home even more than we have been. Getting outside is so important to our physical and mental health. That’s why we’re excited to announce that starting today, a mile of Lake Washington Boulevard is open for people to walk, roll, and bike. It will stay that way through January 3.

The one mile, northern portion of Lake Washington Blvd from Mt. Baker Park to Stan Sayres Memorial Park will be closed to people driving, except for emergency response. Barricades will be removed on Monday, January 4. We hope you enjoy this temporary Keep Moving Street!

SDOT has some other great ideas for having fun outdoors this time of year, including extending the Stay Healthy block closures through February, and permitting Brand New Year block closures by application through January 3. Learn more on the SDOT blog.
