While significantly reduced from years prior, Seattle Parks and Recreation will offer over 400 full day, full summer weekly school-age care slots
Starting May 12, Seattle Parks and Recreation will begin enrollment for summer school-age childcare. Enrollment will be begin with priority given to children currently enrolled in emergency childcare, and scholarship qualifying families. Programs will be located at community centers and other sites throughout the city and will be open to children ages 5-12. Programs will consist of engaging activities taking place both indoors and outdoors, and adhere to current public health and DCYF guidelines regarding providing childcare with social distancing practices.
Health screening will be required for all participants and staff. Anyone showing symptoms of illness or has had exposure to a person with a confirmed case of COVID-19 will not be allowed to attend program until well and not showing any symptoms of illness or 14 days have passed in the case of exposure. Programs will take place form 7am-6pm and will have class sizes of no more than 8 children.

Programs will cost $240.00/week plus a $25 registration fee with scholarships available for those who qualify. DCYF childcare subsidy will be accepted. Enrollment will be prioritized for those families who are essential workers in emergency childcare or qualify for scholarship.
May 12 registration will begin with current Emergency Childcare in coordination with the Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning for essential worker families. May 19 registration will open to enrollment to our scholarship families. Registration will be open to all on May 26 as space is available. An additional email on summer childcare details will be coming soon.
Seattle Parks and Recreation will begin reaching out to currently registered and scholarship qualified families beginning May 12, and registration will be open on May 19, by phone (206-684-5177) or online. All other summer programs—activity camps, half-day camps, sports camps, and other—are currently not available for registration.
