Lewis Park preventative tree work is scheduled to begin January 23, 2019. This work is part of our preventative tree maintenance, which aims to reduce risk related to trees and improve the long-term health of trees throughout our park system. On Lewis Park’s east side, the City-approved contractor Bartlett Tree Experts will prune 16 and remove 14 deciduous trees.
Work at Lewis Park will remove trees that have been assessed to be in poor health or have significant structural defects, and are at risk of failure.
For each tree removed from Seattle parkland, two trees will be planted, following the 2:1 ratio of our tree replacement policy.
