Teachers! Great opportunity to bring Seattle’s natural beauty to your students!

Excitement, joy, energetic exploration and a healthy learning environment!  Teachers, this is what your students will experience on a field trip to Seattle parks. You will derive the benefits of a lesson plan integrating Next Generation Science Standards and Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements led by highly trained Seattle Urban Nature Guides.

Seattle Parks and Recreation Environmental Learning Centers provide pre-school – twelfth grade field trips in Seattle parks. These hands-on outdoor learning experiences are based at the lovely Discovery Park and the hidden gem of Camp Long in West Seattle. However, with advanced notice, programs can also be provided at Carkeek Park and nearby parks in your school’s neighborhood.

Choose from a variety of habitats from ponds and beaches to forests and seasonal offerings such as an exciting spider program to encourage students to engage in learning in a natural fun-filled fashion. We also offer stewardship opportunities to enhance forest habitats and create healthy beaches.
