Join us at Roanoke Park, Froula Playground, and East Queen Anne Playground (Little Howe) open houses this October!

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is excited to share upcoming community engagement opportunities for three play area renovation projects. Community members are invited to open houses this October to learn about the renovations and provide input to help shape the future designs for the play area in their neighborhood. Please join us:

East Queen Anne Playground (Little Howe)

  • Saturday, October 18, from 11 AM to 1 PM

At East Queen Anne Playground, 1912 Warren Ave. N

Froula Playground

  • Saturday, October 25, from 11 AM to 1 PM

At Froula Playground, 7200 12th Ave. NE

Roanoke Park

  • Saturday, October 25, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM

At Roanoke Park, 950 E Roanoke St

Each renovation will replace the existing play equipment with new structures compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12, improve safety surfacing, repair drainage, restore surrounding lawn and mulch areas and upgrade site furnishings and accessible paving.

The community is encouraged to share their feedback online. Please visit our engagement hubs below to review project materials and take the survey to share your input on the current play area.

“We are excited to deliver three renovated play areas across Seattle that will provide safe, accessible, and fun spaces for children and families,” said AP Diaz, Superintendent of Seattle Parks and Recreation. “These projects reflect our commitment to building thriving communities through high-quality parks and ensuring that Seattle has engaging play spaces where neighbors can meet and kids can learn, play, and grow.”

SPR looks forward to working closely with the community to develop a design that enhances the park experience for neighborhood families and visitors.
