Seattle Parks and Recreation Awards Contract for Paving Projects

Seattle Parks and Recreation’s (SPR) is contracting with Statewide Parking Lot for pavement improvement projects. SPR’s Pavement Restoration Program will improve two areas in southeast Seattle over the next six weeks.

  1. Atlantic City Boat Ramp – September 22 – 29
    • Scope: The existing asphalt in the southwest area of the parking lot is eroding. To prevent further deterioration, a new layer of asphalt overlay will be applied, followed by new striping for the parking stalls. This work will be preceded by surface grinding and proper site preparation. A portion of the parking lot will remain accessible to ensure visitors can continue to park during the duration of the project.
  2. Lake Washington Blvd Trail – October 3 – 17
    • Scope: The project includes the replacement of approximately 2,040 square feet of damaged asphalt on the trail that exits Seward Park to the north on the northeast side of Lake Washington Blvd.  All replaced sections will meet ADA accessibility standards, and tree protection measures will be in place during demolition. Trail users will be temporarily detoured to the adjacent sidewalk, with appropriate traffic control signage. Area map here and below.

Statewide Parking Lot and SPR will work to minimize the impact of the projects at each park location. Thank you in advance to the community for their patience and cooperation at each location.
