Seattle Parks & Recreation partners with AT&T at Othello Park on Sport Court Mural

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is excited to partner with AT&T’s Revive Your Court Program and City Year to bring a new mural to the futsal/basketball courts at Othello Playground, 4351 S Othello St, in southeast Seattle. AT&T’s Revive Your Court program provides a unique mural design developed with local community artists and  partners that revitalizes the overall court space for the community members who use them. Volunteers will gather on Thursday, August 14 to create a new mural for the sports court at Othello Playground.

“Seattle is a vibrant and diverse city, and we deeply value the opportunity to bring art, community and recreation together at our courts,” said AP Diaz, Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent. “This mural partnership with AT&T and City Year revitalizes the court at Othello Playground and also celebrates the U.S.–Mexico Bicentennial, honoring culture and community through creativity and collaboration. I look forward to thanking the volunteers and our partners in person on the 14th!”

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with the event kickoff at 9 a.m. and program closing and lunch at 12:30. Potential volunteer opportunities include painting a mural the court, painting additional playground graphics, or cleaning fence landscape overgrowth.  Snacks, water, plus a boxed lunch will be provided. We are looking for approximately 30 volunteers. Project signups will be first come first serve basis.

“AT&T is proud to support projects that uplift local communities through creativity, connection, and service,” said Lauren Paolini, Area Manager, External and Legislative Affairs at AT&T Washington. “Revive Your Court is about more than fresh paint—it’s about creating spaces where young people and families can gather, play, and be inspired. We’re thrilled to partner with Seattle Parks and Recreation and City Year to bring this vibrant mural to life at Othello Playground.”

As part of this partnership, SPR is making sports court repairs starting August 4. Additionally, SPR Southeast District crews are preparing Othello Playground for the volunteer project. From August 4 to 15, Othello Playground sports court and surrounding park area will be closed in preparation for the event.
