Seattle Parks and Recreation and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance Celebrate the Completion of the I-5 Colonnade Pump Track

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance (EMBA) are happy to announce the substantial completion of the new pump track at I-5 Colonnade Park! Join us for the “Yup!” Pump Tracks Grand Opening Party on Tuesday, June 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at I-5 Colonnade Park, under I-5 at 1701 Lakeview Blvd. E., to celebrate this exciting new park feature.

The pump track project represents a major step in modernizing the Tqalu Skills Zone within the park’s existing mountain bike area. Led by the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, this community-driven initiative features a fully paved and adaptable pump track, designed with accessibility in mind for riders of all ages and abilities.

“We’re proud to partner with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance on this revitalization effort,” said AP Diaz, Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent. “This new track builds on the I-5 Colonnade Park as a destination for riders while creating a more inclusive and durable space that welcomes riders of all skill levels and abilities.”

The new large main asphalt pump track provides a low-maintenance riding experience, while the adaptive, beginner and family-friendly track offers a lower-risk environment for those new to the sport. The adaptive mountain bike (aMTB) track accommodates mobility devices, ensuring access for all riders.

The project was made possible thanks to funding from the Seattle Park District and the King County Parks Capital and Open Space Grant, with additional support from community donations and volunteers who helped bring the vision to life.
