Seattle Parks and Recreation asks for park visitors cooperation
New soil and sod are being placed on the top of Kite Hill, an area within Gas Works Park. This work will address the erosion at the top of the hill. Seattle Parks and Recreation(SPR) will close the pathways to the sundial and top of the hill from Wednesday April 16 through Friday April 18, 2025.
The pathways on the hill will re-open at the end of each workday, however, the new grass area around the pathways will remain closed off to the public until Memorial Day to allow the new grass sod to establish.
SPR is asking for park visitors cooperation as we work to maintain one of our most visited parks. Please to stay out of the closed area as we make these repairs for future park users to enjoy.
Gas Works Park is located at 2101 N Northlake Way on the north edge of Lake Union.
