Summer is coming, which means it’s time for swim lessons and renewing scholarships!
As part of Seattle Parks and Recreation’s commitment to equitable and accessible programming, Swim Seattle is offering all scholarship-eligible youth free beginner swim lessons.
Swim registration will open for current scholarship-eligible participants on May 14, 2024, for all swim activities. Registration will open for the general public on May 21, 2024.
You will need to reapply for scholarship eligibility before your registration date!
Option 1: Apply Online
*the fastest, easiest, and secure way to qualify!
1) Check your eligibility by income online here
2) Prepare your income and household size documentation
3) Log in or create an account for your City of Seattle utilities account
4) Answer the questions in the application and apply for other City benefits and programs using the same information
5) Wait 2-3 weeks for eligibility confirmation
Option 2: Apply In-Person
1) Check your eligibility by income online here
2) Prepare your income and household size documentation
3) Go to your local community center or pool
-Ask for support with using the secure online platform OR
-Ask an employee for a hard copy of the scholarship application and email a scanned copy to mailto:scholarship.parks@seattle.gov

The Y is offering 2 free swimming lesson sessions at any YMCA of Greater Seattle pool. New members of the Y can sign-up for 2 free swim lessons who are applying for financial assistance.
