Join Seattle Parks and Recreation and partners in celebrating 50 years of the Rehabilitation Act, the first federal legislation to address access and equity for people with disabilities.
We will be celebrating inclusion in community with a free community event from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday, January 20 at the Magnuson Hangar, Building 30 in Magnuson Park (6310 NE 74th St.). Enjoy interactive art, a keynote address by Dr. Anjali J. Forber-Pratt (activist, paralympic medalist, and Director of National Institute on Disability Independence Living and Rehabilitation Research), performances, ASL storytelling, a panel discussion, and more. See event agenda below. Many exhibits, a children’s play area, and quiet room will also be available.

About Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Specialized Programs: The Specialized Programs unit of Seattle Parks and Recreation offers year-round activities for people with disabilities. The purpose is to provide recreational opportunities for individuals who may choose to participate in activities specifically designed and conducted by trained staff to best meet their needs. Specialized Programs staff will have a booth available at the Celebrating Inclusion in Community event for community members to learn more about these opportunities.
