Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) invites the community to the Bitter Lake Reservoir Park Open Space public open house. Please join us Thursday, October 26 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Bitter Lake Community Center, 13035 Linden Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133 to learn about the project and share your ideas about its design! Please stay tuned for the survey opening on October 26.
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) will replace the existing reservoir that is reaching the end of its service life with a new 21-million-gallon reservoir. The new reservoir will be partially buried and contain the same amount of water as the existing one but with a smaller footprint, creating more than six acres of new open space after the reservoir construction is complete in 2028-2029.
This project is a One Seattle effort to provide northwest Seattle with additional open space with public art and a new reservoir. SPR is leading the park and open space design in coordination with SPU, the Office of Arts and Culture, and the Department of Neighborhoods. This project will incorporate elements of the existing park together with new recreation amenities, public art and a potential expansion of the P-Patch for the Bitter Lake neighborhood.
