Share your ideas on the Rainier Community Center Play Area

We want to hear from you & invite you to participate in upcoming events!

Seattle Parks and Recreation invites you to help shape the future of the Rainier Community Center play area. Please join us and provide input at one of three upcoming events:

  • Saturday, June 24, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rainier Community Center Play Area
  • Wednesday, June 28, 3 to 7 p.m. at Columbia City Farmers Market
  • Thursday, June 29, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Columbia Branch Seattle Public Library

We want to hear from you on how the existing play area can be improved, what makes it great, what’s missing and how we can best incorporate new features. The design team is also looking for input on how to reflect the community’s history and culture within the renovated play space.

Following the events, the ABLE design team will develop three options reflecting the community’s top priorities for the future play area. Seating walls, picnic tables and other seating options will be incorporated into the design. Additionally, accessibility upgrades will be made throughout the park including pathways to the new play area. All improvements will meet accessibility standards and storm water requirements.

The Rainier Community Center play area is located east of the community center at 4600 38th Ave. S.
