Seattle Parks and Recreation awarded the construction contract for the Miller Playfield Turf Replacement project to Coast to Coast Turf. They will mobilize on site the week of July 5th. During construction pedestrian traffic will be re-routed and the basketball court will be closed. Miller Playfield is located on Capitol Hill at 330 19th Ave E.
This project will replace 89,740 sq.ft. of aging synthetic turf at Miller Playfield. This will include the removal of the old ‘worn out’ synthetic turf and address any structural repairs to curbing, sub-subsurface, and drainage. 2022 synthetic turf systems will be installed for recreational play. Girls and boys Lacrosse will be changed to Unified Lacrosse, and the soccer and Little League markings will remain unchanged except for the removal of the 65-foot pitching distance. We anticipate the project will be completed in the fall of 2022.
