December Virtual Programming from Seattle Parks and Recreation

Unprecedented times call for creative solutions, and in that vein Seattle Parks and Recreation has expanded its virtual programming to help you learn and engage from the safety of your own home. The latest offerings can be found on our Virtual Recreation web page, including the new December brochure in a new easy to read, enlarge-able format.

The December catalog includes classes and programs for people of all ages, and for youth and adults with disabilities (Specialized Programs). To sign up, visit the registration portal, or call the Business Service Center at (206) 684-5177.

A few December highlights:

Family Fun Night
Discover the fun of Virtual Games, join us as we will host a night of Family fun, of Bingo, Dance Party, Scavenger Hunt, Pictionary, I Spy and maybe some trivia all on Webex. Bring snacks, costumes are optional; parents are optional. You cannot participate unless you register, and its FREE.  

Class #40871 – 12/11 F 7-8 p.m. Ages 8 and Older. FREE 

Creative Ballet
We use movement and music to stimulate brain reflexes, teach social/emotional learning skills, and encourage joy and self-expression. Music, props, and brain-integrated dance games help to strengthen bodies, minds, and souls of little ones. Parents should attend class to bond and assist in their participation! Class is NOT in person.  

Class #40892 – 12/1-12/15 Tu 11-11:45 a.m. Ages 3-6. $27 

Dance Fitness with Lei
This people-inspired fitness program is a perfect blend of explosive dancing and boot camp inspired toning. Repetition of movement maximizes the workout rather than focusing on complicated dance steps. This program caters to all shapes, ages, and skill levels.  

Class #40893 – No class 12/23. 40893 12/2-12/30 W 6-7 p.m. Ages 16 and Older. $40 

Wellness Wednesdays
Ages 13-30 FREE A new online program for Teens and Young Adults with disabilities. Activities will include games, crafts, projects and more all based around domains of wellness. Participants must have access to a device with a camera to participate. This free program will be offered on WebEx. To register, email: PKS_Specialized_Programs@seattle.gov 

Bi-Weekly on Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 p.m. FREE 

You can also visit the Seattle Parks and Recreation YouTube channel to explore videos on casual recreation, environmental education, and children’s storytime; plus community center favorites like Adult & Senior Fitness Classes, Chess, Cooking, Creative Dance, Group Piano Lessons, and Video Game Design, and a variety of Specialized Population programming.
