Seattle Parks and Recreation improves 130th NE Street End

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is making access improvements to the 130th NE Street End park at 13000 Riviera Place NE, in northeast Seattle, just off the Burke Gilman Trail. SPR will install timber box step stairs with handrails to improve access and create a safe passage down the slope from the trail.

The slope area is closed and will be fenced off from September 8 to 18 during the construction of the stairs and a temporary handrail. The new stairway will be closed again from October 12 to 16 as we install the permanent metal handrails. Additionally, planting to the north and south of the stairway will be installed in late fall following the dry season.

Thank you in advance to the community for your cooperation and patience during construction.

SPR finalized the purchase of this property in 2019. The property totals 13,736 sq. ft, mostly water, with a small shoreline area.
