Fall Festivities Across Seattle

Fall is here! And with it, comes dozens of fall festivities hosted by Seattle Parks and Recreation. Whether it’s Autumn carnivals, spooky Tot Gym, haunted houses or pumpkin carving, we have something for everyone!

SE SEATTLE

  • Friday, October 4

FALL HARVEST FESTIVAL   

Van Asselt Community Center | 5-7 p.m. | All Ages | FREE
Join us for the 3rd Annual Fall Harvest Festival. Enjoy food, games, crafts, and more! Bring the whole family for this fun-filled community event! Need help with your scholarship application? This is a great time to come get help from staff filling them out.

CREEPY CARNIVAL FOR KIDS

Garfield Community Center | 6-8 p.m. | Ages 5-12 | FREE
You do not want to miss this popular spooky event. We will have music, carnival games, face painting and lots of treats. Wear your costume to participate in the costume contest! Bring your little goblins to our annual Halloween Carnival. Our family friendly event will have fun and safe interactive games for everyone. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

DIWALI FESTIVAL

Lake City Community Center | 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.| All Ages| FREE
Diwali or Deepavali is the Hindu festival of lights,
which is celebrated every autumn. One of the most popular
festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory
of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over
ignorance. Join the Lake City Community Center and Library as
we learn more about and enjoy this tradition. This free event
will feature story time, crafts, games, music, and food.

FUNKY FAMILY FALL FESTIVAL

Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center | 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.| All Ages| $5 per person, family 4+ $20
Get the whole family together to join us for an evening of
treats and a few tricks. Come in costume and enjoy carnival
style games, crafts, haunted mini golf, and more! Meet your
neighbors, let your kids loose in the gym and have fun. Funky
family costumes encouraged. Parental supervision required.

FRIGHT NIGHT

Lake City Community Center | 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.| All Ages| FREE 
Join the Lake City neighborhood for a full evening
of fun! Start in the mini park to get a map of local businesses
participating in trick-or-treating from 5:15-6:15. After your
bags are full, head over to the Community Center for an all
ages party from 6:30-8:30p.m. hosted by the Lake City Lions
Club. The celebration will include food, crafts, games, and a
Haunted House put on by the Lake City Vigilantes.

Bring the whole family down to our Halloween

Get ready for the annual Scarecrow Mini Fest! We’ll
be inside this year with the same great games, kids
activities, kiddie tractor ride corral, and of course, scarecrow
making! You bring the clothes and a pillow case for the head,
and we’ll supply the rest. Put your scarecrow on display during
the Mini Fest for a chance to win grand prize!

DIA DE MUERTOS

Dia de Muertos, or Day of the Dead is a celebration of loved ones who have passed. During this colorful tradition we will be making sugar skulls along with other crafts and games.

THE REPTILE MAN

Why go to the zoo when the animals can come to you! The
Reptile Man will be coming to our community center to show
off his reptile friends. Join us for a fun filled evening of bonding
with cute cold-blooded creatures flicking their tongues and
hissing in scaly solidarity.

Join the Hiawatha Community as we celebrate
National Coming Out Day. Whether it’s coming out as lesbian,
gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) or as an ally, we
come together in celebration and advocacy of equality and
living openly. You’ll enjoy activities, music, performances, food,
and access to resources to learn more about and demonstrate
support for the LGBTQ community.

Join the Delridge Community Center and the

All Ages Join us for a fright fest of activities, games, and challenges! Dress in costume and remember to bring a bag for your goodies. Festivities include carnival games, bounce houses, a cupcake walk, face painting, and arts and crafts. Hotdogs and water available for hungry participants, $1 each. Activities geared towards 2-10 year olds, but everyone is welcome! Proceeds from tickets support programs at Loyal Heights Community Center.

Kick off Halloween weekend with family pumpkin carving and decorating! We’ll have pumpkins of all sizes with safe carving tools and paints to create your spooky or funky jack-o-lantern. Enjoy cookies, candies, and hot cider while you carve. Stick around for the jack-o-lantern contest to win prizes!

Ages 5-15 Green Lake Community Center and Evans Pool are co-hosting a haunted celebration! Visit the dimly lit gym with glow in the dark decorations and two bouncy houses from 6-8 p.m. Then from 7-8 p.m. join a pirate themed pool party where each swashbuckler must dodge the floating pumpkins! Healthy snacks provided (Swimsuits are a must!) Canned food donation will be collected at the door to support our local food banks.

Green Lake Community Center/Evans Pool | noon – 2:30 p.m.| Ages 5-15| Free
Join us a we set-up the swimming pool deck with tables and chairs for our Halloween potluck. Bring a dish to share, and maybe a story or two. Be prepared to make friends and enjoy some great food and music. You’ll also enjoy music from Evans Pool’s own “The Sauna Lizards,” our own local band of swimmers! Adults swim only: Noon-1:30 p.m. All ages swim from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome at the potluck from Noon-2:30 p.m. Canned food donation will be collected at the door to support our local food banks.
