Creative play for all at the Arts in Nature Festival, August 25 & 26

Art and music in the summer lushness of a beautiful park – you can’t beat the combo! Community members of all ages are invited to take part in the festivities at the 19th Annual Arts in Nature Festival on August 25 and 26 at Camp Long.

Presented by the Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association, the Festival’s theme this year is “Convergence.” Artists and audience members are encouraged to participate with each other and with various art disciplines while enjoying the natural surroundings.

Of note this year is a performance on August 25th by Reverend Pat Wright’s Total Experience Gospel Choir, a must-see before the Reverend’s retirement. Music from artists Naomi Wachira, De Cajon, and Gamelan Pacifica, and others will also be presented over the weekend, along with poetry readings and visual installations by local artists. See the full schedule here.

Attendees can create their own works of art by participating in interactive, family-friendly activities, including performance by Northwest Puppet Center, linocuts, capoeira demonstrations & a labyrinth. Food trucks and a beer garden are also on hand to fuel the creativity.

The festival runs from noon to 9 pm on Saturday, August 25th, and from noon to 6 pm on and Sunday August 26th.  One-day tickets are $10 in advance or $12 the day-of. Students/Seniors are $8 in advance or $10 day-of. Kids aged 10-17 are $5 advance, $6 day-of. Kids under 10 are free. Tickets can be purchased here. For scholarship information, please call 206-923-0917

Full weekend passes are also available, as well as the opportunity to sponsor a low-income youth to experience the festival who would not be able to attend otherwise. Sponsors receive a Full Weekend Pass, “Friend of the Festival” button, a special gift, and an exclusive invitation to our VIP Lodge Lounge event on Saturday, August 25.
