Throughout June, our Aquatics Unit is hosting a Laps 4 Pride initiative at all of our pools, both indoor and outdoor. Each pool will report weekly how many laps were swam during the month of June to commemorate the department’s support of diversity and inclusiveness. We encourage each lap swimmer and user group to record laps daily at the Laps 4 Pride reporting station located in each pool.
Swimmers swam 44,628 laps during the first week of June!
How to participate:
- Swim and keep count of your laps.
- Be sure to record your name (optional) and laps at the cashier booth or designated reporting station.
- Weekly totals for your location will be provided with a grand total of all participating sites at the end of June.
- Ask staff for more detail and about additional programs.
