The Kubota Garden Foundation is pleased to announce a unique, community arts experience on Saturday, June 2 at Kubota Garden. The Northwest Stone Sculptors Association will lead local youth, ages 8-17 in discovering the art of crafting a sculpture through soapstone carving.
Instructors will guide participants through the process of shaping this beautiful, natural material into a figurine to take home. Participation is free and the soapstone and all necessary tools will be provided. Two sessions are scheduled, beginning at 10am and 1pm, respectively. Each session will be limited to 50 participants, so please register early. Youth must be accompanied by an adult.
This event will be a wonderful opportunity to combine handiwork, mental focus and three- dimensional thinking, all while enjoying the stunning surroundings of Seattle’s historic Japanese garden park. Register today, using the link below.
