Partnership Highlight: Seattle Chinese Garden

Sitting atop a ridge in West Seattle, the Seattle Chinese Garden offers 5 acres of stunning parkland that celebrates and shares the beauty of China. Community members are invited to visit the grounds from dawn to dusk free of charge. SCG is accessible via wheelchair and dogs on leash are welcome.

Public Benefits:

  • Free Admission to the Garden: All visitors to the Seattle Chinese Garden can stroll the garden grounds and courtyard free of charge, all year-round. Notably, the garden grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk, but Knowing the Spring Courtyard within the garden does have special hours, opening Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Oftentimes, the courtyard will open earlier on weekends from spring through early fall, so guests may consider calling ahead of an early weekend visit to check hours.
  • Affordable Guided Tours: Docent-guided garden tours are available to groups of eight or more and are ideal for school groups and community members of all ages interested in learning more about the garden and its connection to Chinese culture. Rates for guided group tours are offered at a nominal fee. To schedule a tour and get a rate quote, call 206-934-5219 during office hours or email info@seattlechinesegarden.org at least two weeks in advance of your desired tour date.
  • Festival Events: Throughout the year, SCG hosts a variety of special events, most of which are free with a suggested donation.
