Celebrate National Volunteer Week by giving back to the community!

It’s National Volunteer Week! What better time to give back to your community? Last year over 36,000 volunteers donated 196,448 hours of service to Seattle Parks and Recreation, a $5 million value! Our volunteers play a key role in helping us support healthy people, a healthy environment and strong communities. From removing invasive plants in our parks to coaching a youth basketball team, our volunteers get involved in ways as diverse as they are.

We are always looking for community members who want to share their time, energy and talents with us. We have volunteer opportunities for persons age 14 and older, groups, families, corporate employees and more. Interested in getting involved? Visit www.seattle.gov/parks/volunteer/current-volunteer-opportunities to see what opportunities are available now. And don’t forget to check out our Volunteer Calendar for additional opportunities in your neighborhood.

While this week may be National Volunteer Week, we know that there are volunteers across the city working tirelessly year-round to support Seattle Parks and Recreation. To all of the dedicated volunteers who help to keep our parks beautiful and our communities thriving: thank you! We’re so grateful for your support.
