Join us in celebrating the kickoff of the Get Moving Initiative on July 16 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Beer Sheva Park (8650 55th Ave. S).

This free event will feature a variety of performances by local community organizations, activities, music and dance demonstrations, and light refreshments. Attendees will also have the opportunity to observe a Seattle Police Activity League (SeaPAL) Flag Football Program, which is supported by the Seattle Park District Recreation for All Initiative, across the street at Rainier Beach High School Stadium.

If you have questions about this event, please contact Lakema Bell at lakema.bell@seattle.gov or 206-512-5288.

Through the Get Moving Initiative, Seattle Parks and Recreation is providing grants to support local nonprofit organizations, small businesses, and community groups in offering innovative and culturally relevant events and projects to increase participation in community sports, recreation and physical fitness activities that serve under-resourced communities. Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Get Moving Initiative is made possible by funding from the Seattle Park District. For more information, visit http://www.seattle.gov/parks/healthyparks/getmoving.htm.
