Seattle Parks and Recreation Citywide Young Adults Program invites youth and teens between the ages of 12 and 19 to participate in annual Week Without Violence Events. This year’s Week Without Violence will be celebrated October 16-23. This week gives youth a chance to express their feelings about violence in their community and engage in a safe environment through free recreation programs and activities but all members of the public are welcome to attend.
Week Without Violence will kick off on Friday Oct. 16 from 6-9 p.m.at Bitter Lake Community Center. Activities will include a Top Teen Chef Competition, music, a youth resource fair and food. Bitter Lake Community Center is located at 13035 Linden Ave N.
On Wednesday, Oct. 21, Southwest Teen Life Center will host a reflection to honor loved ones who have been lost to violence. The event will last from 5-6 p.m. Southwest Teen Life Center is located at 2801 SW Thistle St.
On Friday, Oct. 23, there will be a Remembrance Dinner at Montlake Community Center from 6-8 p.m. for youth and families to celebrate memories of those who have passed. Montlake Community Center is located at 1618 E Calhoun St.
