Seattle Parks and Recreation invites families, neighbors, and farmers to provide input on the next phase of improvements for the Marra-Desimone Park on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015 from 6- 8 p.m. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the design team will host the community meeting at the South Park Community Center, 8319 8th Ave S.
Our goal for this meeting is to gather input for the improvements of this 8.7 acre community park that will inspire the design and create a sustainable community amenity. At the meeting, Seattle Parks and Recreation’s project manager and Barker Landscape Architects will provide background park information and gather community input on park elements and design features. The meeting will include interpreters for Spanish and Vietnamese language speakers, and a youth activity associated with the design.
The park improvements will focus on park access for all, safety in design, space for community recreation and an enhanced farm and garden. The Long Range Development Plan developed with community input in 2008 will guide the design process.
This project is funded by the Parks and Green Spaces Levy.
