October Family Fun and Halloween Events

What a way to welcome autumn, with these October family-friendly events at community centers across Seattle! Thanks to our partnership with the Associated Recreation Council for such an array of fun. Southeast Seattle

Friday, October 20

Fall Harvest Festival, Van Asselt Community Center, 5-7 p.m. | All Ages – FREE
Join us for the 2nd Annual Fall Harvest Festival at Van Asselt. We will have food, games, crafts, and more! Make sure to bring the whole family for this fun filled community event. Need help with your scholarship application? This is a great time to come get help from staff filling them out.

Friday, October 27

Creepy Carnival, Garfield Community Center, 5 p.m.-7 p.m. | Ages 6-12
Join us for this spooky pre-Halloween event! Carnival games, candy, prizes, cake walk, crafts, and more. Be sure to wear your costume and enter our spooky selfie challenge. Volunteers needed! Contact us at 206-684-4788 or traci.grant@seattle or billy.nong@seattle.gov for more information.

Halloween Frightfest, International District/Chinatown Community Center, 6-7:30 p.m. | All Ages – $2/Child
Bring your little goblins to our fun and festive party! Our family-friendly costume extravaganza will have fun and safe interactive games for everyone.

Halloween Carnival and Haunted House, Jefferson Community Center, 6-7:30 p.m. | All Ages – Game tickets 5 for $1; Haunted House $2
Come and join us for our annual Halloween Carnival and Haunted House, and enjoy an evening of scary fun. Do you dare go into the haunted house? Costumes are encouraged at this great family event.

 Saturday, October 28

Toddler Halloween Fest, Rainier Community Center, 10 a.m.-noon  | Ages 1-5
Come join us as we get into the Halloween spirit! We will have costume contests with prizes, cookie decorating, arts and crafts, toddler gym, pumpkin painting, and more.

Monday, October 30

Creepy Crawl for Toddlers, Garfield Community Center, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. | Ages 5 and Under
Toddler gym, spooky crafts and snacks. Come in your costume!

Thursday, October 19

Westside Hunt and Costume Contest, Hiawatha Community Center, 6-8:30 p.m. | Ages 11-17 – FREE
A flashlight, goodie bag and strong spirit is all you need to capture prizes on our grounds. YCTP intern staff will award a “spookiest” and “most original” costume prize prior to the hunt. Begins promptly at dusk. Send inquiries and questions to John.Hasslinger@Seattle.gov. Upperclassmen and adult volunteers wanted to run music and lead the outdoor hunt.

Glow in the Dark Party, Delridge Community Center, 6 -7:30 p.m. | All Ages – FREE
Our 3rd annual Glow in the Dark Party! Snacks, games, and music are just the beginning of the fun. Come glow with us! Wear your costume, face paint, or anything that will illuminate the party. #GlowintheDark. This event brought to you by the Delridge Advisory Council.

Toddler Pumpkin Palooza, High Point Community Center, 10 a.m.-noon | Ages 1-5 – $5/Person
Join the High Point Community Center staff and enjoy age appropriate Halloween games, booths, face painting, art and craft activities, and snacks.

Friday, October 27th

Spooky Carnival, Alki Community Center, 5:30-7:30 p.m. | Ages 11 and younger – $0.25/ticket or $5/unlimited bracelet
Spooky fun for the whole family! Carnival games and prizes and a Spooky Haunted Scream Room for brave trick or treaters. For more information please call Alki CC at 206-684-7430. Teen and adult volunteers are greatly appreciated.

Halloween Carnival, Hiawatha Community Center, 6-8 p.m. | Ages 2-12 – $5/Child
Start your Halloween off with a frighteningly fun-filled evening for the family! Wear your costumes and enjoy carnival games, crafts, and spooktacular activities.

Fall Festival, High Point Community Center, 5:30-7:30 p.m. | All Ages – FREE
Join High Point Community Center staff and enjoy a family evening of fun. We will have Halloween games, booths, face painting, art and craft activities, and snacks. Fun for all ages. Come one, come all!

Fall Carnival, Yesler Community Center, 5:30-6:30 p.m. | All Ages – FREE
Enjoy a fall celebration with free snacks, candy, food, and games, as staff shares information about Yesler Community Center’s plans moving forward. Come join Lakeside School volunteers and celebrate the freshness of autumn that is upon us!

 

Northeast Seattle 

Friday, October 6

Harvest Festival, Meadowbrook Community Center Parking Lot, 5-7 p.m. | All Ages – FREE ENTRY
Celebrate the Fall Harvest with your community and enjoy freshly pressed apple juice and $5 pony rides!

Friday, October 20

Funky Family Fall Festival
Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center, 5:30-7:30 p.m. | All Ages – $3/Person or $12/Family (over 5 people)
Get the whole family together to join us for this annual evening of treats and a few tricks. Come in costume and enjoy carnival style games, crafts, haunted mini-golf, and more! Meet your neighbors, let your kids loose in the gym and have fun. Funky family costumes encouraged.

Saturday, October 21

Spooky Sprint
Magnuson Park Beach and Kite Hill, 10-11 a.m. | Ages 3-12 – $20
It’s time for ghosts and ghouls, zombies and spiders to lace up their sneakers and run through our haunted race course! Ages 6-12 choose between a 1 or 2-mile fun run, while ages 3-5 start the event with the special Tot Sprint. Race check-in begins at 9 a.m. and is located south of the swim beach. Please register by October 16. Cost includes t-shirt, award, prizes, and refreshments for all. Costumes welcome!

Friday, October 27

Pumpkin Carving
Northgate Community Center, 4:30-7 p.m. | All Ages – FREE
Kick off Halloween weekend with family pumpkin carving and decorating! We’ll have pumpkins of all sizes with safe carving tools and paints to create your spooky or funky jack-o-lantern. Enjoy cookies, candies, and hot cider while you carve; stick around for the jack-o-lantern contest to win prizes!

Tuesday, October 31

Halloween Make-Up Headquarters
Magnuson Community Center, 3-5 p.m. | Ages 2-12 – FREE
Complete your Halloween ensemble by getting your face painted! Stop by Magnuson Community Center before trick-or-treating on the biggest dress-up event of the year! Reservations strongly suggested. Call 206-684-7026 for make your appointment.

Tuesday, October 31

Mighty Mites Costume Party
Miller Community Center, 9:30 a.m.-Noon | Ages 5 and under – FREE
Attention all superheroes, monsters, ballerinas, and princesses: Miller Community Center wants to invite you to show off your best costume! The event will be full of games, treats, and prizes.

Friday, October 20

Halloween Carnival
Loyal Heights Community Center, 6-8:30 p.m. | Ages 2 and older – Game tickets $0.50 or unlimited bracelets $12
Join us for a fright fest of activities, games, and challenges. Dress in costume and remember to bring a bag for your goodies. Festivities include bounce houses, carnival games, crafts, cookie decorating, and a cake walk. Volunteers are needed to help set-up, clean-up and run carnival games. Proceeds from tickets supports the Loyal Heights Community Center scholarship fund.

Saturday, October 21

Fall Fest
Ballard Community Center – 11 a.m. | Ages 2-10 – $5
Time to celebrate fall! Join us for a day of fantastic fall activities. You can try your hand at the apple press, make your own scarecrow (bring old clothes), and of course, play games.

Big Pumpkin Bash
Bitter Lake Community Center Annex (13040 Greenwood Ave N), 6-8 p.m. | All Ages – FREE ENTRY (Carnival Game Tickets $0.25 cents each)
Bring the entire family out for a night of ghoulish-good fun! We will have carnival games, face painting, and the always popular cake walk! Please bring a can of food to donate to our local food bank. Don’t forget to wear your costumes. Volunteer hours are available during this event. Please call 206-684-7524 for more details.

Thursday, October 26

Tot Carnival, Queen Anne Community Center, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. | All Ages – $3
Have your tots try on their Halloween costumes and join in some pre-Halloween fun. Our mini carnival will have games, treats, and fun for all. Costumes are optional but encouraged!

Friday, October 27th

Lil Spookie, Magnolia Community Center, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Ages 10 and under – $4
Get the little spooky ones dressed for our morning Halloween event! We’ll be serving treats, decorating pumpkins, playing games, and bouncing around. Costumes are encouraged.

 CANCELED Haunted Bounce and Pirate Pool Party, Green Lake Community Center, 6-8 p.m. Due to Center Closure for renovation
