Do you like being outdoors and sharing nature with others? Become a Seattle Urban Nature Guide!

Environmental Learning Centers (ELCs) play a vital role at Seattle Parks and Recreation: to get people outside to learn about the natural world around us, and inspire them to become stewards of our environment. One of the many ways ELC staff does this is by training volunteers to be Seattle Urban Nature Guides, and we could not do this valuable work without them.

Our environmental learning programs serve all ages – organized groups and school groups from preschool through high school, as well as adults and families with children of all ages. Volunteers may lead a small group of elementary school students on an urban forest ecology walk at Camp Long, or teach families about the amazing intertidal life of Puget Sound at Discovery or Carkeek parks.  Whatever it is, our aim is the same: to enjoy exploring and learning about nature!
