Rainier Beach Merchants Association will present its 7th Annual Rainier Beach Arts and Music Festival, BAAMFest, on Saturday July 22 from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM. BAAMFest is a WILDLY different, fun, and provocative festival that takes place in Rainier Beach, one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the US!
Talent encompassing our region will be represented across four stages with more than 40 performing acts, scores of artists, vendors and community booths. Candidates for public office will also be at BAAMFest, and they will have the opportunity to compete against one another in a poetry slam!
BAAMFest has something for the little ones too! Kids will be thrilled with lots of physical activities and learning opportunities, including Detective Cookie’s Chess Club.
Other features of this year’s BAAMFest include, but are not limited to:
- Appearances from Seahawks players
- Traveling African American History Museum
- US Army Buffalo Soldier’s 10th Calvary re-enactors
The event is held on the campuses of the Rainier Beach Community Center and South Shore School at the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street, just 3 blocks east of Link Light Rail and 300 yards from Lake Washington.
