Adult Zydeco Dance – Beginning

This two-step partner dance originally hailed from southwest Louisiana. The music and the dance are both infectious and playful. People all over the United States love this music, including in Seattle where you will find active communities of dancers. The music has a rich heritage of Cajun, rock ‘n’ roll, blues, Afro – Caribbean and even Hip Hop. The dance has evolved with both closed rhythmic and open playful positions where partners learn to play off each other. This is fun to learn and a complete blast. We even spend a little time recounting a bit of the rich history of the music and the dance and teach you the great skills you need to dance with anyone. Singles and couples are welcome. There is no prerequisite for this course.
