13th Annual Festival of Fruit

FREE and fun for the whole family, the 13th Annual Festival of Fruit will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Piper’s Creek Orchard, 950 NW Carkeek Park Rd, Seattle, WA 98177.

Festival of Fruit activities include:

  • Orchard tours
  • Apple juice pressing
  • Apple variety identification
  • Heritage apple tasting
  • Apple tree planting, pruning and orchard care demonstrations
  • Children’s activities
  • Mason bee display
  • Live music
  • Master Gardener clinic

The Festival of Fruit is organized by the Friends of Piper’s Orchard, a group of dedicated volunteers who rescued the historic North Seattle orchard from invasive plants. Each year, the annual festival raises awareness and funds to help the volunteers ensure that the orchard, originally planted in the 1890s, will survive at least another 100 years.

Alongside the Friends of Piper’s Orchard, the Festival of Fruit is also sponsored by Seattle Parks and Recreation, Carkeek Park Advisory Council, and City Fruit.

Getting there

Parking may be reached from Carkeek Park’s lower meadow parking lot. An alternative way to reach the orchard is by following the ravine from the park’s southerly entrance. The southern parking lot and trail head are behind the QFC from Holman Road, off of NW 100th Pl. at 6th Ave. NW.
