Seattle Parks and Recreation and the East Ballard Community Association invite the community to the second public meeting for the 14th Ave. NW Park project on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish School located at 5816 15th Ave. NW.
At this meeting Parks and Mithun, the design consultant, will present the preferred final schematic design and discuss the next steps for this project. At the first meeting, held in January, Parks and Mithun presented the project history, site analysis, three design options, and gathered community input.
This project converts the east side of 14th Ave. NW between NW 59th and NW 61st streets into a new “street” park. In order to create this unique “street” park the east side traffic lane will require rerouting of the north bound traffic to the west side of the 14th Ave. The project includes green infrastructure and incorporates safety improvements for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.
The design and construction of this project are funded by the 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy.
