Seattle Parks still has spaces in Miller Community Center for Teen and Adult Wheelchair Basketball League

There is still time to sign up for the Teen and Adult Wheelchair Basketball League at Miller Community Center on Tuesday evenings. Anyone who uses a wheelchair and enjoys playing hoops is welcome to the league.

3 on 3 Wheelchair Basketball League for Teens and Adults (combined) NEW!
This awesome league is for our wheelchair population, combining teens 15 and older with adult players. Beginner and novice players have the opportunity to play in a competitive but friendly environment. All participants must be able to follow a sequence of instruction and have adequate upper body control to maneuver a manual wheelchair.

There are 8 games (three matches to 15 per game) guaranteed plus play-offs. Game start times vary from 6 – 8:45 p.m., and take place at Miller Community Center, 330 19th Ave E., Seattle. League play begins December 4.

Adult sports leagues for spring are beginning to form. Get your team together and sign up early for your first choice of game days, times and locations.

Co-ed, Men’s and Women’s Softball Leagues

Dates:            May 1 – July, 2011

Days:              Varies

Time:              6:30 p.m., 7:45 p.m. 

Cost:              $700- $900, depending on the league

Location:        Leagues take place all over the city, with 24 leagues to choose from. Locations include, but are not limited to Ballard, Delridge South Park, Loyal Heights, Magnolia, Lower Woodland and Green Lake.

Adult Dodgeball

Dates:                         April 11 – June 27, 2011

Days:                          Mondays

Times:                        6:30 p.m., 7:15 p.m., 8 p.m. (Players will play a mix of game times listed.)

Cost per team:          $180/12 weeks of play (Fees are based on a 6-team league; fees may increase or decrease depending on the number of teams in the league.)

Cost per person:       $30

Level:                          Open to individuals of all abilities

Spring Co-ed Recreational Volleyball League

The league consists of a minimum of three women, and a maximum of three men on the court. The league gives players an opportunity to play volleyball in a fun and controlled environment in our spacious indoor facility. Games will take place at Jefferson Community Center and High Point Community Center from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Leagues are limited to 8 teams at each location.

Dodgeball

Relive your glory days in gym class! Join the fastest growing league in Seattle. We offer the best leagues, courts, and fun in the city. The league consists of 6 matches followed by a single elimination tournament. 

Game play is 40 minutes. Games are self-officiated, and all league games are held at Jefferson and Delridge Community Centers. Spring team registration closes on April 7, 2010. 

Game Times: 6 p.m., 6:45 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:15 p.m. Players will play a mix of game times listed. 

Cost per team: $180 – Based on a six-team league. Fees may increase or decrease depending on the number of teams in the league.  Rosters are due by April 7.

Kickball

Come get your kicks with us! Sign up now for our new Adult Kickball League. Seattle Parks and Recreation offers the best leagues, fields, and fun in the city. Recess was never this much fun! 

Players of all ability levels are welcome. Teams play with 10 players at time, with 6 men and 4 women on the field. You can bat/kick as many people as you want. Seattle Parks and Recreation’s leagues include regular season games and one playoff game.  All teams make the first round of playoffs. Leagues also typically include an umpire, t-shirts, and online schedules and standings. 

A team organizational meeting will take place on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the High Point Community Center.  At this meeting, you’ll need to provide a $100 deposit to hold your team’s spot in the league.

This recreation level league is for players looking to enjoy volleyball without an intimidating atmosphere or attitude. The league consists of a minimum of three women and a maximum of three men. Each game consists of three matches.  Spring league is limited to eight teams.

Men, Women and Co-ed Softball

Grab your mitts and get ready to play in the largest softball league in Seattle. Last year there were 86 men’s teams, 106 co-ed teams, and 11 women’s teams.  Play on all of your favorite diamonds like Lower Woodland, Miller and Riverview.  Whatever skill level you are, we have a league for you!  League also includes umpire, t-shirts, trophies and online standings.
