Eagle Scouts complete projects at Camp Long

Thank you to the members of Eagle Scout Troop 282 who recently completed two park improvement projects at Camp Long. The Scouts completed a full restoration of the Wildlife Garden at Camp Long and also designed and built two ADA-accessible raised vegetable garden beds. The raised beds will be utilized by Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Special Populations program, providing disabled community members the opportunity to learn about and enjoy gardening. In addition to installing the beds, the Scouts managed to secure the donation of nine native Pacific Wax Myrtle plants from West Seattle Nursery, which add a new dimension to the garden.

Thank you to the Scouts who volunteered on these projects; your quality of work and attention to details is impressive and the size and scope of these projects is significant!
