Seattle Parks and Recreation celebrates Welcoming Week with events in our downtown parks

 

 

Seattle Parks and Recreation is celebrating Welcoming Week with the following three events in our downtown parks. Welcoming Week, which this year will be held Sept. 14-23, is an annual series of events that bring together immigrants, refugees, and native-born residents to raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone. Naturalization Ceremony at Waterfront Park on Sept. 17: Join us on Citizenship Day, Monday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at Waterfront Park (Pier 58) to celebrate newfound citizenship with New Americans taking the oath to become U.S. citizens.

 

Kouyate Arts Performance at Westlake Park on Sept. 20: Kouyate Arts will offer African song and dance performances, as well as an interactive dance workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20 at Westlake Park.

 

Outdoor Movie Screening at Hing Hay Park on Sept. 21: UPDATE: This event has been canceled due to predicted rain and wind.

 

All events are free and open to the public.
