Second phase of Victory Heights Playground improvement begins

Spring is here and LW Sundstrom, Inc. will begin the second phase of the Victory Heights Playground improvement project in early April. This phase includes the installation of field drainage, construction of a new drainage swale, construction of an asphalt perimeter loop pathway, completion of the half basketball court, and installation of new benches. We anticipate the playfield to be closed from early April through June. Victory Heights Playground is located in northeast Seattle at 1737 NE 106th St., 98125.

Phase 1 of the Victory Heights Playground improvement project opened to the community in early February 2018. The first phase of the project provided a renovated accessible playground that features new play area equipment for children ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12 complete with new slides, net climbing elements, swings, musical instruments, a merry-go-round, and a deluxe coupe car climbing element as requested by the public. The improved picnic area creates an inviting community space with additional picnic tables and seating. The project also reconfigured the basketball court and now offers a separate sand play area.
